Parents and Friends Association

Our school has a very committed and active parent body. Involvement in classroom activities and raising funds to support the school are two areas which profile the parent body well. The financial support provided by the Parents and Friends Committee over recent years has been very much appreciated by the school. The Board is functional and effective and works well with the P&F and School Administration.

The Parents and Friends Association meet on the second Monday of each month at 7.00pm in the Library with dates confirmed in the newsletter.  All parents are most welcome and encouraged to attend meetings along with their children. Meetings run on an average about one hour in length. Agenda items are listed in the newsletter prior to the meeting and a suggestion box is located in the office for any items you wish to see discussed by the P & F. The Annual General Meeting is held immediately before the General Meeting in March to elect the Executive Committee.

A Fundraising Levy ($120 per family/ per year) exists at MacKillop and, as a result, there is no major fundraising organised by the P & F Association except for a fete which is currently held every two years. We do, however, run discos, pizza meal days, Mother's Day and Father's Day stalls which are more about the children rather than significant fundraising.

The P & F aim to support parents in their role as the primary educators of their children and support the school in its endeavour to provide a holistic Catholic education to all students. To help us be successful, we do ask for parent volunteers throughout the year. Not only are you contributing to the success of our school, but you get to meet other parents and have fun at the same time. Your time volunteered may be large or small, but is always appreciated.
